Popular phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere, popularly known as Terry or Dinero among traders at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, is reportedly dead following his disappearance in Accra.

Nana Yaw reportedly went missing after travelling to Teshie to meet a lady he had been chatting with for some weeks.

Concerns grew late Sunday night after unusual WhatsApp messages were sent from his phone to a friend, indicating that he had allegedly been “set up” by the lady in a room in Teshie.

The messages reportedly included a photograph of the room and a live location.

The friend reportedly became suspicious because the wording of the messages appeared different from Nana Yaw’s usual style of communication.

Another message was later sent from Nana Yaw’s phone at about 3:00 a.m., reportedly indicating that he had been released.

However, the photograph of the room and the shared live location were subsequently deleted from the WhatsApp conversation, raising further concerns about his whereabouts.

Following the reports, investigators from the Ghana Police Service recovered Nana Yaw’s Honda Civic and arrested three suspects in connection with the incident.

Subsequent searches in parts of Teshie led to the discovery of his remains.

In a statement released on Thursday, Nana Yaw’s family confirmed his death and expressed gratitude to those who joined the search efforts and offered prayers during the difficult period.

The family has also appealed for privacy as investigations into the circumstances surrounding his death continue.
