The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has directed its members across the country to participate in the nationwide General Cleaning Exercise declared by the government on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, 2026.

In a statement issued on Thursday, July 9, 2026, the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, said the directive forms part of the NPP’s commitment to promoting environmental sanitation, civic responsibility and national development.

The party noted that although its Constituency Elections are scheduled for Saturday, July 11, members are expected to take part in the nationwide sanitation exercise after casting their ballots.

According to the statement, the constituency elections will be conducted on a walk-in voting basis, giving members the opportunity to vote before participating in the clean-up exercise.
