Deliver Dambai bridge on schedule without compromising quality — Agbodza tells contractor
The Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, has directed Maripoma Enterprise Limited, the contractor executing the Dambai Bridge project, to ensure the bridge is completed on schedule, within budget and without compromising quality.
According to the Minister, the bridge is a critical infrastructure project expected to transform transportation and boost economic activities in the Oti Region by improving connectivity between Dambai and neighbouring communities.
Mr Agbodza gave the directive during an inspection of the project as part of his nationwide tour of road infrastructure in the Oti Region.
He stressed that the government expects the contractor to remain focused on delivering the project within the stipulated timeline while strictly adhering to the required engineering and construction standards.
The Minister noted that once completed, the bridge will facilitate the efficient movement of people and goods, enhance regional integration and contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the area.
Mr Agbodza further revealed that the Dambai Bridge is being financed entirely by the Government of Ghana, describing it as a demonstration of the country’s commitment to funding critical infrastructure with domestic resources.
“We are doing this with our own resources. No amount of it is a loan we took from other countries, so Ghanaians must be proud that for once we are spending our own money to do something like this. I think the contractors will be guided and helped as much as possible to be able to deliver on time, on budget and without compromising on the quality,” the Minister added.
