NPP National Treasurer aspirant involved in accident
The campaign of Collins Nuntwiri Nuamah, popularly known as CNN, for the position of National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been temporarily suspended after the campaign vehicle in which he was travelling was involved in a motor accident on the Kwahu Ridge.
The accident occurred on the evening of Saturday, September 5, 2026, at about 8:30 p.m., according to a statement issued in the name of the candidate.
Nuamah, who is campaigning to become the NPP’s National Treasurer, was reportedly travelling back towards Anyinam after completing campaign engagements in Afram Plains North and South when the incident occurred.
The accident happened on the Kwahu Ridge, a mountainous stretch of road connecting communities in the Eastern Region, as the campaign team made its way to the next phase of its tour.
The campaign schedule had originally taken Nuamah and his team to Afram Plains North and South, with Anyinam scheduled as the next stop. He was expected to continue his campaign activities on Sunday, September 6, with engagements in the Atiwa East and Atiwa West constituencies before proceeding to the Kwahu Bloc.
Those plans have now been put on hold following the accident.
Candidate Admitted for Medical Attention
Nuamah himself was involved in the accident and is currently receiving medical attention at a hospital, according to information accompanying the announcement of the temporary suspension of his campaign.
The development has therefore prompted a temporary interruption of the candidate’s campaign as he focuses on receiving medical attention and recovering from the incident.
