In a moving tribute to his late Special Aide, Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has pledged to construct a modern computer laboratory for the Presbyterian Cluster of Schools at Akyem Oda New Town.

The MP announced the initiative during the Thanksgiving service for his late Aide, Maxwell Kofi Anti, whose final funeral rites were held over the weekend at Akyem Oda.

The project aims to immortalize Anti’s dedicated service to the constituency and fulfill a dream he passionately championed during his lifetime.

According to the MP, providing digital infrastructure for the Presbyterian Cluster of Schools was one of Anti’s most cherished goals.

The inspiration grew after Akwasi Acquah successfully constructed and delivered a 24-unit computer laboratory for the Catholic-managed St. Luke School at Akyem Oda New Town three years ago. Kofi, a devout Presbyterian, had long hoped to see a similar educational boost provided for the children within his own church denomination.

"This afternoon, I made a pledge to build a computer laboratory for the Presbyterian Cluster of Schools at Akim Oda New Town in honour of my late PA, Maxwell Kofi Anti, who is a Presbyterian himself. This has been one of his much-cherished dreams," Hon Acquah shared on Facebook.

Swift Execution and Immortalization

The announcement was met with immediate support from leadership. Rev. Charles Baah Ankrah, Chairperson of the West Akyem Presbytery, columned his commitment to the project by promising to secure a suitable plot of land in the shortest possible time.

The goal is to expedite construction so that the facility can be fully built and commissioned to coincide with the first anniversary of Kofi Anti’s passing.

To ensure his legacy endures for future generations, Hon. Akwasi Acquah made a formal, humble request to the church and community stakeholders. He said the facility, when completed, should officially bear his Aide's name.

"I requested, humbly, the edifice when completed should be named after Maxwell Kofi Anti for his dedicated service to the people of Akyem Oda and humanity in general," the MP added.

The upcoming ICT centre is expected to significantly enhance digital literacy for hundreds of students within the Presbyterian Cluster of Schools, transforming a community's grief into a powerful tool for youth empowerment.
