Akyem Oda MP Donates GH₵330,000 to ODASCO for Modern Steam-Cooking Project
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akyem Oda, Alexander Akwasi Acquah, has donated GH₵330,000 to Oda Senior High School (ODASCO) to support the introduction of modern steam-cooking technology at the school.
The donation is intended to support an initiative being championed by the school's 1991 Year Group to improve cooking conditions and promote environmentally friendly food preparation.
Mr Acquah announced the donation in a Facebook post, stating that the cheque was presented to support the group's vision of introducing the technology at the school.
According to the MP, the project, when completed, is expected to reduce air pollution and protect the health of school cooks by minimising their exposure to harmful smoke generated during cooking.
He explained that the initiative would also reduce the school's reliance on firewood, helping to limit tree felling and promote environmental sustainability.
The adoption of steam-cooking technology is expected to contribute to a cleaner and healthier cooking environment for both kitchen staff and the wider school community.
The donation highlights efforts to support infrastructure and technological improvements in educational institutions, particularly initiatives that promote environmental protection and the well-being of workers.
The project is being pursued by the ODASCO 1991 Year Group, with the MP's financial contribution providing support towards the realisation of its vision.
