Regina Daniels’ mother explodes over daughter’s marital crisis
The ongoing marital crisis between Nigerian actress Regina Daniels and her billionaire husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, has taken a dramatic new turn following an explosive outburst by Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, who has publicly accused her son-in-law of betrayal, manipulation, and ingratitude.
In a fiery social media rant that went viral on Tuesday, Rita Daniels lashed out at the Delta North senator, claiming he had not only arrested two of her children but also maligned her daughter’s character after years of loyalty and sacrifice.
“You married my daughter because you wanted someone with high star power to boost your fallen star,” she said angrily. “If you think you’ll bite the finger that fed you, you’ll go down. Regina is not a gold digger; she didn’t marry you for money.”
The emotional outburst comes amid widespread reports that Senator Nwoko ordered the arrest of some members of Regina’s family, allegedly over domestic misunderstandings linked to the couple’s deteriorating marriage.
Though details surrounding the arrests remain unclear, multiple online sources suggest tensions reached a boiling point after Regina Daniels reportedly moved out of their home in Abuja.
Rita Daniels, who has often defended her daughter’s controversial 2019 marriage to the then 59-year-old politician, accused Nwoko of hypocrisy and turning against the very family that supported him during his difficult times.
“The small girl even gave you $50,000 to support your election,” Rita alleged. “All my resources also went into that same campaign, and now you turn around to humiliate us? You are mad.”
Her statement refers to Nwoko’s 2023 senatorial campaign, which he won under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) after a fiercely contested race.
During the campaign, Regina Daniels was actively involved in mobilizing support for her husband — a role that earned her praise at the time for combining politics and showbiz influence.
However, cracks in their marriage began to show publicly in mid-2024, when rumors surfaced of domestic disputes, jealousy among co-wives, and Regina’s alleged emotional withdrawal from the union.
The situation worsened in October 2025 when videos emerged online showing Regina in distress, accusing Nwoko of domestic abuse, claims he later denied, counter-accusing her of substance abuse and disrespect.
The latest confrontation between Nwoko and his in-laws suggests the crisis has reached its most volatile phase yet.
The senator, who has been vocal about his belief in polygamy as a cultural and religious choice, recently defended having multiple wives, saying, “Having one wife is like standing on one leg.”
Rita Daniels’ remarks appear to be a direct response to that controversial statement, implying that Nwoko’s polygamous tendencies and ego have overshadowed the affection and respect that once defined his relationship with her daughter.
As of press time, Senator Nwoko has not issued an official statement in response to the accusations by his mother-in-law.
