The Member of Parliament for Ofoase-Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has once again demonstrated his commitment to education in his constituency by disbursing GHS134,000 to the latest batch of beneficiaries under his scholarship and bursary programme.

Now in its ninth phase, the initiative — launched in 2017 — aims to provide financial support to brilliant but needy students pursuing tertiary education.

The latest disbursement supports 22 students studying across 16 tertiary institutions in Ghana, pursuing diverse programs such as medicine, law, marketing, public health, midwifery, business administration, education, and secretarial studies.

According to a statement issued by the Office of the Member of Parliament, the Ofoase-Ayirebi Scholarship and Bursary Programme has so far benefited over 700 students since its inception eight years ago.

The MP’s office noted that this sustained investment in education forms part of Mr. Oppong Nkrumah’s broader commitment to human capital development within the constituency.

The office particularly commended five students currently enrolled in medical and physician assistantship programs, encouraging them to excel in their studies and serve as role models to others.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah, who also serves as a leading figure within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and has previously held the portfolio of Minister for Information, initiated the scholarship scheme to bridge the educational gap in rural communities by easing the financial burden on students from low-income families.

Since its launch, the programme has attracted support from corporate organizations, philanthropists, and other stakeholders who share in the MP’s vision of empowering the next generation through education.

The statement further invited individuals and institutions interested in supporting the initiative or applying for aid to contact the MP’s office through official communication channels, including scholarships@konkrumah.com.

Mr. Oppong Nkrumah’s educational initiative continues to position Ofoase-Ayirebi as a model constituency for youth empowerment and community-driven development, reaffirming his long-standing belief that education remains the most sustainable tool for poverty reduction and national progress.
