Evans Yeboah, the current President of the Badminton Association of Ghana (BAG), has announced his intention to seek re-election for a third term.

Evans Yeboah, who has been at the helm of the association since 2017, believes that he still has unfinished work to do in developing badminton in Ghana.

He cited the BAG’s 12-year program for youth development, which is still ongoing, as one of the reasons for his decision to seek re-election.

He emphasized that the association has made significant progress in developing young players, and he wants to see the program through to its completion.

“We started a program for 12 years, so from 2017, like I mentioned, up to 2032, we are not done yet at where we are going,” Yeboah said.

Recent Successes

The BAG has had a remarkable run in recent times, with Ghana dominating the 2025 Badminton Grand Slam Championships.

The Ghana Shutters, the national team, secured 29 medals (12 gold, 7 silver, 10 bronze) across all categories, cementing its position as the top-performing nation in the tournament.

Election Roadmap

The BAG is yet to release the election roadmap for the elective congress.

However, Evans Yeboah’s ambitions for a third term are accommodated by the BAG’s current regulations, which do not impose a term limit on the number of terms a president can serve.
